band & bio

Element was found in 1999 by Andi and Matt (ex-keyboards). Soon after Simon, Voitheq and Fil joined the band. The first songs were composed during regular trials at that time. The style that was presented by the band at this early stage of existence was symphonic black metal. In summer 2000 during one of trials six songs were recorded. Three of them were on the band's first demo tape titled "Dream In Black". The quality of the recording was very poor, thus Element decided not to promote it. What's more, not many people had a chance to hear it.

In 2001 the band focused on composing new songs. Three new compositions were created: Daemonopolis, My Angel and Diverse Beauty. Element improved its technical skills. The new stuff was much more mature than "Dream In Black", better arranged and more technical. At that time Element's genre was rather death metal than black metal. But still Element didn't get rid of keyboards which were actually playing a big role in the band's music. In summer 2001 an official band's demo was recorded at Manek Studio in Sanok. The demo title was "Daemonopolis". The genre presented on this recording was symphonic death/black metal. "Daemonopolis" had many good reviews, what contributed to the band becoming known in a Polish underground. The demo was released by Apocalypse Production.

Positive opinions about "Daemonopolis" encouraged the band to work harder. This time it was planned to record more songs in a better studio in order to produce a ready to release long-play. In summer 2002 six completely new songs were composed. The band spent a lot of time polishing them before entering the studio. Maintaining a high technical level and having a fresh view on an extreme music, Element made a very original album. The music was basically death metal but there was still a lot of orchestrations. An avantgarde character of music was mostly due to distinctiveness of each song. The album was recorded in September 2002 in Hertz Studio in Bialystok. It was mixed and mastered in Hertz as well but in the beginning of 2003.

The new album was titled "PsychoPhenomenon". The songs presented on this long-play were as follows: Tha Star Unknown, Anothereality, Sanctum, Efreet, PsychoPhenomenon, Sabre, Zealot, Daemonopolis 2002. In order to overcome difficulties in describing the band's genre, the term "neo death" was created. It integrated all styles performed by the band and an extraordinary attitude to death metal. One may say it could be a prophecy of a big change concerning the band's musical style. "PsychoPhenomenon" collected many awesome reviews in Poland and abroad. The band was surprised with such a positive reaction of people who had a chance to listen to "PsychoPhenomenon". The album is to be released by Redrum666 in the nearest future.

Till year 2005 the band was focused on promotion of "PsychoPhenomenon". There was a change in the band's line-up - Matt is no longer a member of Element. In summer 2005 Element produced stuff for a new album. The music is completely different from what was presented by the band in the past. There was a radical change in the band's style and attitude to music. Actually, right now Element has made something that could be honestly called a pure neo death. Ten new compositions were home recorded in August 2005.
